Lamar Odom was hospitalized in October 2015 after a near-fatal overdose at a brothel in Nevada. In the following months, Khloe Kardashian helped him recover and even briefly leased a rental home for him in Calabasas, California.
Lamar Odom’s family staged an intervention in New York City on Friday, July 22, in response to the former NBA star’s recent troubling behavior, a source tells US Weekly.
“Lamar was doing really bad and his family was going to stage an intervention on Friday,” the insider tells US.
The source confirms that the mediation took place on Friday night with several of Odom’s close family members, including his ex-wife Liza Morales, aunt JaNean Mercer, his children and several of his cousins.
According to Extra, the retired Los Angeles Lakers star “was extremely surprised” by the intervention and “left the location.”
As US Weekly previously reported, the 6-foot-10 Odom, 36, was kicked off a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to NYC earlier this month after he reportedly got drunk at the airport and vomited on the plane.
A source told US at the time that the athlete stopped at a bar in Santa Monica prior to heading to LAX, where he “got really angry and started getting drunk.”
